My name is Lauren Joyner. Hopefully you already guessed that fact via the web address, but I bet you don’t know this: I am an architecture grad student, and this website is my interactive thesis. It is my opinion that architectural graduates often do not know how to market themselves in a fashion that actually gets them what they want (a cool job), and this is my attempt to perhaps forge a path in that direction. By writing weekly entries filled with my thoughts and opinions about the design field and publishing them alongside an online portfolio showcasing my design work, I hope to give prospective employers and clients a thorough view of who I am. Perhaps then I will land a job in an office that would truly suit my skills and professional desires. Plus, I find web design fun, and who doesn’t like an outlet where they can talk about anything they want and have people listen? I dare you to find someone. Really.
